Pikmin 4 introduced two more varieties of Pikmin to the series. Pair that larger-than-ever selection of weird little guys with the expanded leafling lore and a new grub-dog-like companion, and there have never been so many friendly faces in the series. That got us thinking: what would their zodiac signs be?

Since there are 12 zodiac signs and only nine proper Pikmin, we've filled the gaps with the closest and most appropriate characters in the world of PNF-404. Don't worry, there are no obscure references to minor characters like Louie's Grandmother. Everyone here is noteworthy. So before you ask: no, Mushroom Pikmin and Bulbmin don't count.

Aries - Olimar

Arguably the least surprising choice (except for maybe the Blue Pikmin), Olimar being an Aries is too obvious not to be true. Olimar is bold, composed, and courageous. A natural born leader, his ingenuity and passion to achieve success is staple Aries behavior.

Having crash-landed his ship on a strange planet with an unbreathable atmosphere, he managed to not only rally an entire army of Pikmin (whom he never met before) to aid him, he found success in as little as 30 days.

Taurus - Glow Pikmin

If there's one thing a Taurus appreciates, it's being comfortable in their own environment. They enjoy the comforts of home and seldom feel a need or desire to expand beyond that. If any Pikmin would relate to that, it's the Glow Pikmin. Introduced in Pikmin 4, these ghost-like friends are only found at night or in the cover of darkness.

Even so, Glow Pikmin and Tauruses alike are resilient creatures. The problems of every day, whether it's work stress or a Fiery Blowhog, won't affect them as much as they might others. "Comfortable and unwavering" fits them to a T.

Gemini - Yellow Pikmin

Some folks always seem like their busy doing something. With a new skill and always a hobby planned out, these energetic folks might very well be a Gemini. And if they were a Pikmin, they'd be the Yellow Pikmin. These high-energy fellas will jump higher, dig faster, and do far more than you might think.

Perhaps their curious nature drove them to always be moving. Either way, one thing is for certain: both Yellow Pikmin and Gemini will always have something to do, and they'll be excited to get it done.

Cancer - Ice Pikmin

The true mediator of life, a Cancer can control a room better than anyone. With a strong will and natural ability to influence the emotions of others, they're a perfect pairing for none other than the Ice Pikmin. Introduced in Pikmin 4, these blocky little ice cubes are not only masters of keeping cool, they can get just about anyone else to 'chill out' when they put their minds to it.

That extroversion comes with a concern for their own emotions, however. They often feel a need to protect themselves emotionally. For most Cancer, that's a fake smile. For Ice Pikmin, it's a body of literal ice.

Leo - Oatchi

If anyone is going to hog the spotlight, it'll be a Leo. They love having all eyes on them and are ready to prove that the attention is worthwhile. This resonates strongly with one of the most recent additions to the Pikmin team: Oatchi. While not a Pikmin, this dog-like creature is your character's trusty companion throughout Pikmin 4. They can do everything a Pikmin can, alongside special bonus powers like sniffing out treasure and ramming into breakable material.

Not to imply that they're purely self-serving. Leos (and Oatchi) are tremendously loyal, often taking a straightforward approach to problems in an effort to help those they care about. A Leo may not need to tackle gigantic pottery for the sake of the team like Oatchi does, but we know deep down that they absolutely would if they're asked to.

Virgo - The Leaflings

A Leafling in Pikmin 4

An outlier in the Pikmin universe, the concept of a Leafling has been speculated since the first game. But only in Pikmin 4 are their motives, or even existence, made known. One consistent trait among the Leaflings is their strong belief in Dondori, the art of efficiency. They will do whatever they believe to be the best way to achieve their goals. On PNF-404, the goal is to survive. And to the Leaflings, that means converting anyone unable to breathe the atmosphere's air into a Leafling themselves.

What does that have to do with this particular sign? Your average Virgo will hold a very systematic and strong line of reasoning. They are practical, logical, and often seen to be perfectionists. They can seem cold or uncaring with their approach, but they often mean well in the end. That sounds like a Leafling to me.

Libra - Rock Pikmin

To a Libra, life is about achieving balance. It's easy to think that a Libra is someone who exemplifies balance as an individual. But oftentimes, it's the exact opposite. Not everyone is equal, so they seek out others to help balance out their own strengths and weaknesses. That's what makes them the most like Rock Pikmin.

Introduced in Pikmin 3, these hard-shelled helpers are anything but balanced. They're tough, durable, and able to do things that other Pikmin types can't. But at the same time, they're unable to do many of the much-needed actions the rest of the roster provides. Rock Pikmin shine brightest when balanced out by the rest of the party, just like a Libra.

Scorpio - Red Pikmin

If you need something kept under control, you need a Scorpio to take the reigns. When things start getting too hot in Pikmin, bring out the Red Pikmin. Like a Scorpio, Red Pikmin are well-rounded creatures that are naturally strong, both physically and emotionally. They may not stand out at first glance, but they'll always stay standing.

Whether it's a literal fire or the pressures of modern society, these are the ones to turn to when you need help. They're more than capable of staying in control when things start to get heated; in fact, that's often when they perform best.

Sagittarius - Winged Pikmin

Winged Pikmin in Pikmin 3

We tend to lump people into either being 'casual and lighthearted' or 'frank and direct.' What makes the Sagittarius special is their affinity for finding the line right between the two ideas.

Winged Pikmin embody those same values, often quite literally. Their small, lightweight forms allow them to safely float over danger, while their preferred method of treasure retrieval is the most direct you can be: flying in a straight line. When things seem time-consuming or complex, you'll appreciate having a Sagittarius (or a Winged Pikmin) by your side.

Capricorn - Purple Pikmin

Patience is a trait that, generally speaking, everyone can benefit from. But not everyone is good at having it (looking at you, Gemini). But if anyone sign excels at both being patient and making the best use of it, it'd be the Capricorns. They understand that with the right amount of patience and dedication, they can achieve whatever they set their mind to.

That's a manta that every Purple Pikmin can relate to. They may not be the fastest, nor do they have any special powers to solve problems immediately, but they are absolute musclemen in the Pikmin 2 world. Capable of carrying ten times the weight of a standard Pikmin, their slow and steady pace is guaranteed to have some fantastic results.

Aquarius - White Pikmin

White Pikmin in Pikmin 2

When it comes to innovation of any kind, there's a fair chance that an Aquarius is behind it. These air signs love nothing more than cultivating something new, something revolutionary. They take life and turn it on a head we never knew it had. That's exactly what the White Pikmin did to the Pikmin series when they were introduced in the second game. They took the core understanding of how Pikmin worked and expanded on it in new and interesting ways.

While an Aquarius has the potential to be one of the more toxic people in a person's life, they also have the strong will and willingness to be different needed to ward off the toxicity of others. It can be toxic and resistant to toxic. Does that sound like a certain Pikmin you know?

Pisces - Blue Pikmin

Blue Pikmin in Pikmin 4

It may seem cliche to give the Blue Pikmin to a water sign. But there's more to these blue buddies than just the elements. Pisces are empathetic and intuitive folks. They are easily in tune with the emotions and experiences of others. They are the first ones to notice when someone is struggling, and they'll be the first ones to do something about it.

The Blue Pikmin are easily the most empathetic Pikmin variety. It can be hard to discern such nuances of emotion from their cute little faces, but consider this: In Pikmin 2, Blue Pikmin are the only ones that will go out of their way (and potentially toward harm) to rescue other Pikmin from drowning. If that doesn't sound like a Pisces, nothing does.
