After the longest wait between Pikmin games in the series history (that's a theme we're probably going to have to start getting used to with pretty much everything), Pikmin 4 launches this month. Hitting digital and physical shelves on July 21, 2023, if you simply can't wait that long, the demo is available to play for free on Nintendo Switch right now.

If you have played the demo already, and you've also replayed Pikmin 1 and 2 that hit the Switch recently to tide people over, there's only one thing left to do. Pre-order your copy of Pikmin 4. Whether it's a digital or physical copy you're after, Pikmin 4 is now available to pre-order, and while there aren't many bonuses to speak of for doing so, it's still nice to know your copy has been secured.

Since it's been ten years between Pikmin games, Pikmin 4 is likely going to be a lot of people's introduction to the series. Not only do people appear to be discovering Pikmin is a lot more than it appears to be on the surface by playing the demo, but there are a lot of new features to make sure it doesn't feel like fans of the first three games are just doing more of the same but with better graphics.

After a decade-long wait, we're finally getting a new Pikmin game. Pre-order Pikmin 4 now so it arrives, or is ready to play if you buy the digital version, when it launches on July 21. Pre-order at Walmart for a complimentary Pikmin 4 water bottle.

Pikmin 4 includes character creation for the first time, and also the chance to go out at night for an entirely different Pikmin experience. The only complaint based on what we know so far, without the ability to play the full game, is its scaled-back co-op. A sin too many Nintendo games have been guilty of lately. Throw it on the pile with the otherwise terrific Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

Pikmin 4 launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2023. You can pre-order it now through the links above.
