Slivers are back in vogue! Magic: The Gathering's Commander Masters has given us another set of preconstructed Commander decks, and Sliver Swarm is all about Slivers. These needle-nosed creatures share their abilities, so the more you play, the better they all become, until you eventually have an army of unstoppable super monsters.

And because Slivers are so powerful, they've been a popular Commander deck archetype ever since the format was first created. A few of the Slivers in Sliver Swarm have rarely been reprinted, and that means they're both hard to find and pretty expensive. Read on to discover the top ten most expensive reprints in Sliver Swarm.

All prices are taken from TCGPlayer.com. For cards with multiple reprints, we’ve listed the price of the least expensive version.

10 Crystalline Sliver

Magic The Gathering – Crystalline Sliver

Price

$2.20

Making sure your Slivers survive is a high priority for a Sliver deck, and Crystalline Sliver helps by making all your Slivers untargetable. It's a standard for Sliver decks, but since it hasn't seen too many reprints, demand has bumped the price of Crystalline Sliver up a slice or two.

We managed to find listings on TCGPlayer for $2.20, but there are plenty of other sites charging between $3 or $4 for this card.

9 Herald's Horn

herald's horn

Price

$2.75

If you're playing a Commander deck with any sort of creature them, Herald's Horn is an auto-pick. For three mana, this horn makes all the chosen creatures' cost one mana less and even sometimes nets you a free card. That's perfect for elves, goblins, wizards, knights, warriors, and yes, even Slivers.

Even though Herald's Horn has been reprinted multiple times, it's in such high demand that it's hard to find this card for under $3. If you don't have one already, you might want to hold onto it.

8 Windfall

MTG Windfall by Scott Murphy

Price

$3.06

A three-mana sorcery that has remained a top contender for best blue card draw ever since it was first printed in Urza's Saga, Windfall's popularity only grew with the popularity of Commander. Windfall makes everyone discard their hand and then draw cards equal to the greatest number of cards discarded, making it perfect for multiplayer formats like Commander.

And because Commander is so popular, Windfall is at least a $3 card, but you'll often find it listed for several dollars more, depending on the reprint.

7 Vanquisher's Banner

MTG Vanquisher's Banner by Milivoj Ceran

Price

$3.40

Similar to Herald's Horn, Vanquisher's Banner instead makes creatures of the chosen type +1/+1 larger rather than cost one less mana. It also reliably provides additional cards whenever the chosen creature type is cast.

Vanquisher's Banner is popular for the same reasons as Herald's Horn, only it's slightly more expensive due to its higher rarity.

6 Realmwalker

Realmwalker by Zack Stella

Price

$3.49

A 2/3 for three mana isn't great, but what Realmwalker provides is access to more cards. Having effectively more cards available to play is even better than card draw, which is why Realmwalker is desirable for any creature-type-themed Commander decks with even a splash of green mana.

Realmwalker is also a card that hasn't seen too many reprints since Kaldheim, making it a sought-after card.

5 Syphon Sliver

MTG Syphon Sliver by Tyler Jacobson

Price

$3.56

Don't let that screaming face fool you; this creature is still a Sliver. It also gives every other Sliver lifelink, which can be a godsend for aggressive decks like Sliver Swarm.

Syphon Sliver was first printed in Magic 2014, and it's only ever been reprinted in a Secret Lair drop. Commander Masters is its first real reprint in years, making it one of the more expensive Slivers on this list.

4 Bonescythe Sliver

MTG Bonescythe Sliver by Trevor Claxton

Price

$3.63

Double strike is an excellent ability for any creature to make, making Bonescythe Sliver one of the better Slivers in Sliver Swarm. Reprinted in Jumpstart: Historic Horizons and again in a Secret Lair, we otherwise haven't seen Bonescythe Sliver since Magic 2014.

It's an excellent Sliver for any Sliver deck, hence why this card commands a premium price tag. But not as much as the next Sliver on our list.

3 Galerider Sliver

MTG Galerider Sliver by James Zapata

Price

$5.30

A strictly better Winged Sliver, Galerider Sliver gives all other Slivers flying at the cost of a single blue mana. That's great, and it's also a card that hasn't been since Magic 2014 and a single Secret Lair Drop.

All Sliver decks want it, but until the advent of Sliver Swarm, only Magic players that could afford to could have it replace Winged Sliver in their Sliver Deck (or more likely fly alongside the lesser Winged Sliver). Be sure to keep ahold of this card if you plan to play Slivers.

2 Sliver Hivelord

Magic The Gathering – Sliver Hivelord

Price

$9.50

Playing all five colors is hard, so there'd better be a big incentive to doing so. Sliver Hivelord is that incentive. A 5/5 for one mana of each color, Sliver Hivelord gives you an indestructible army of Slivers. Of all the keywords to have, indestructible is probably the best one.

Sliver Hivelord is also a card that has rarely been reprinted, making it the second most expensive Sliver in Sliver Swarm. It's only beaten by the next Sliver that is seeing its first-ever reprint.

1 Synapse Sliver

MTG Synapse Sliver by Thomas M Baxa

Price

$12.76

One of the big problems with Slivers is that it's really easy to run out of cards. Synapse Sliver solves that problem by giving every sliver the potential to draw cards if they deal combat damage to a player. Throw in Galerider Sliver for a spot of evasion, and you can see how easily you can draw a new hand in just a few attacks.

Perhaps the most desired Sliver for any serious Sliver player, Synapse Sliver has only ever been reprinted in a single Secret Lair drop. Its first printing in Legions is by far the most common source, but it's old and there are fewer and fewer Synapse Slivers with each passing day. Sliver Swarm is bringing this beloved Sliver back from the brink of extinction, but if you want to buy it now, it'll cost you a pretty penny.
