In the 2003 feature film adaptation of the best-selling book Holes, Shia Labeouf plays Stanley Yelnats, a boy who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and gets sent to a boys correctional facility in the middle of the desert where they have to dig holes to build character.

On his journey he encounters Hector Zeroni who, as fate has it, was actually connected to Stanley from generations of family members. His great, great grandmother sang this song to Stanley’s great, great grandfather and set a curse upon his family. Decades later, Hector and Stanley sing this tune again to break the curse.

6 Do You Trust Me? – Aladdin

In the 2019 live-action remake of Aladdin, Mena Massoud plays the charming street-rat Aladdin. His gentle eyes and big smile made the hearts of millions of girls swoon when he reaches out to Princess Jasmine, played by Naomi Scott, on her balcony.

He says this line twice, first in the streets of the kingdom when he is fleeing the bazaar with Jasmine and he tries to protect her, then again right before their magic carpet ride through the evening sky and they sing A Whole New World.

This line is both hilarious and somewhat sobering for the adults in the audience as Rusty (kid Russel) comes to grips with the fact that he’s a bachelor living a life he never would have hoped for.

The feature film and the original movie trailer for The Kid have two different versions of this scene and this line delivered by Rusty. The trailer was much more animated and humorous whereas the version they chose to put in the final film was much more somber.

Lindsey Lohan’s adaption of The Parent Trap was incredible. She mastered the act of playing two distinct twins in a single film and at the time fooled several young girls that there were actually two of her.

When Hallie and Annie are at summer camp they come up with their plan to switch places and go live with the opposite parents, they chop their hair, pierce their ears and swap clothes. Then they make the ironic joke that they never looked better.

In the feature film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Lizzie gets her silver screen debut on an international stage. While she is in Rome on a school trip, she meets a handsome and famous singer who charms her with this line into performing with him at the big summer concert.

It’s not till the climax of the film that Lizzie’s Doppelganger convinces Lizzie that he’s tricking her with this cheesy line. But let’s be honest, we were all charmed by Paulo initially.
