Diablo 4's community has just had a pretty chaotic 24 hours, as Blizzard made a bit of a whoopsie with the game's latest patch. Earlier today, players noticed that the drop rate of the game's Uber Unique gear from Helltide Chests had been significantly increased, gear that was previously so rare that player's have been having constant arguments as to whether even bother farming for it. Instead of dropping once every blue moon, the Harlequin Crest (which fans affectionately refer to as the Shako) was dropping with alarming consistency.

We know this was a bug because Blizzard very swiftly put a halt to the frenzy, explaining that Uber Unique drops have been temporarily disabled while it looks for the issue and fixes it (thanks PC Gamer). Helltide Chests will still drop every other kind of gear there is, but the ultra-rare stuff has been pulled from the game. As you can probably imagine, Diablo 4 players aren't particularly pleased with this solution, with some irritated at the speed of which Blizzard acted on the issue.

The Diablo 4 subreddit is full of players talking about the fiasco, with more than a few mocking Blizzard for rushing to fix a bug that players actually benefitted from when its been slow to fix ones that have been causing irritation. One player likened the quick patch to "hotfixing fun", while another popular post mocks Blizzard for fixing the bug in a couple of hours while Druid's had to wait two weeks for a Loot Table fix, and how players are still having to wait until Season 1 for the much-requested Gem Pouch.

Of course, the comparison isn't exactly fair, as implementing a gem pouch or fixing a gameplay issue is probably a little more complex than simply switching off Uber Unique gear drops. There's also a fair bit of whining going on from those who were too slow to grab one or were fast asleep when the whole fiasco was happening, but there is a bit of animosity towards Blizzard for seemingly sitting on its thumbs when it comes to bigger issues the community is begging for the devs to fix.

In happier Diablo news, a recent livestream from Blizzard gave us a first look at the Blood Knight, a new class being introduced to Diablo: Immortal and the first that has been introduced to the series since Diablo 3. The class is only playable in Diablo: Immortal right now, but there's always the chance that Blizzard could bring it to Diablo 4 if it's popular.
