Below is everything you need to know about Yungoos's Spotlight Hour, from event information to the best preparation strategies.
Spotlight Hour Date And Time
The upcoming Spotlight Hour will take place on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, from 6 am to 7 pm local time. This is a relatively short window of time, so make sure that you are prepared and logging in punctually to take advantage of the bonuses being offered.
Spotlight Hour Pokemon
This week's Spotlight Hour will showcase Yungoos, the Loitering Pokemon. This Normal-type Pokemon only has one evolution: Gumshoos.
To evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos, it will require 50 Yungoos Candy. Yungoos Candy can be obtained by either catching or transferring Yungoos or Gumshoos.
Make sure to take advantage of this Spotlight Hour's increased Yungoos spawn rate to encounter and catch this Pokemon several times.
This will earn you tons of Yungoos Candy, giving you the resources to complete this evolution.
Also, as with any Spotlight Hour, this is a great chance to catch a Yungoos with high in-game stats.
Although this Pokemon's stats are still random when caught, the sheer number of Yungoos encounters will give you a greater opportunity to catch one with desirable stats.
Spotlight Hour Bonuses
A specific bonus will accompany each Spotlight Hour throughout its duration. For this Spotlight Hour, you will receive two times the Candy for transferring any Pokemon.
With the massive increase in Yungoos spawns during this event window, this is a great opportunity to catch and transfer several of these Pokemon, providing you with tons of Yungoos Candy, a valuable Pokemon Go resource used to evolve and power up this Pokemon.
Spotlight Hour Spawn Rates And Shiny Rates
The main bonus of this Spotlight Hour will be Yungoos's massively increased spawn rate during this event. The spawn rate of Yungoos can be increased further by using both PokeStop Lures and Incense.
Fortunately, you will have the chance to encounter Yungoos's Shiny variation during this Spotlight Hour Event. Using these two items will help increase the odds of encountering and catching this unique Yungoos variant.
Like Community Day Events, the increased spawn rate of this Pokemon will give you better odds of finding and catching this Shiny Pokemon, so make sure that you prepare accordingly when it comes to your items and specific locations.
That being said, Yungoos's Shiny rates will not be boosted for this Spotlight Hour. This means that encountering a Shiny Yungoos will still be rare and often hard to come by.
How To Prepare For Spotlight Hours
With such a short window, ensuring that you are prepared for this event before its commencement is important. With the massive increase in the featured Pokemon's spawn rate, make sure you are stocked up on Poke Balls.
You will also want to ensure that you have sufficient Pokemon Storage before this event begins. This will allow you to rapidly catch the featured Pokemon without worrying about transferring others to make space.
You can also increase your Pokemon Storage by 50 by purchasing a Pokemon Storage Upgrade at the in-game shop for 200 PokeCoins.
With the bonus of this Spotlight Hour being double Candy for transferring any Pokemon, stocking up on Poke Balls and having sufficient storage is especially important.
Additionally, with the double Candy bonus applying to any Pokemon that you transfer, stock up on Pokemon that you plan on transferring in the days leading up to this event. Waiting to transfer them until this event will prove to be extremely valuable, especially with rarer Pokemon.
Lastly, with Yungoos being Normal-type Pokemon, Mega Evolve a Pokemon that is a Normal type during this Spotlight Hour if possible.
This will further increase the number of Candies earned when catching Yungoos throughout this event.
