Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to be one of the most popular titles for the Nintendo Switch. Featuring dozens of tracks for you to race along with your friends and a swinging soundtrack to listen to, this game continues to excite. Nintendo kept that fun going with the Booster Course DLC, adding 48 tracks from across the Mario Kart franchise.

Wave 5 sees several old racers and courses return, including an entirely new racetrack to the franchise in Squeaky Clean Sprint. From the Greek-inspired Athens Dash to the traffic-covered Moonview Highway, let's take a look at this vast collection of courses.

8 Sunset Wilds

Dry Bowser Riding A Bike

Introduced in Mario Kart Super Circuit, Sunset Wilds makes its grand return in Wave 5. The course was initially themed around racing in a tribal Shy Guy camp. This concept was altered to instead see us in an excavation site filled with Shy Guy miners. Sunset Wilds maintains and enhances its beautiful orange-red glow in this new rendition.

This track has several wide turns that require tight drifting to execute correctly. Though similar to other courses from Super Circuit, Sunset Wilds doesn't have much in the way of a "wow factor."

7 Moonview Highway

Several Buildings Lit Up At Night

Following in the footsteps of courses before it, Mario Kart Wii's Moonview Highway is a city track that sees you driving through oncoming traffic. Set at night in a big city, the bright lights from the building and other cars capture what traveling in a dark city is like. The traffic coming towards you adds some notable challenges to a city racetrack.

This requires you to weave between the oncoming vehicles and Bob-omb cars. Moonview Highway has a great sense of speed as boost panels appear throughout the course and ramps that will allow you to do tricks off them, furthering your momentum.

6 Koopa Cape

A View Of A Waterway With A Blue Koopa Shell

Making its debut in Mario Kart Wii, Koopa Cape is a beautiful waterway themed after the titular turtle. Koopa Cape sees racers traveling along a rushing river as they travel along the current to drive through an underwater pipe. The most exciting thing about this track is the several trick ramps scattered throughout. The ramps were built around the bike-style vehicles introduced in Mario Kart Wii.

Those with expert drift skills can maintain their speed consistently. The underwater section of Koopa Cape is a feast for the eyes as you can view several types of sea life before being shot out to continue the loop again.

5 Vancouver Velocity

A Large Bridge Set At Night With Autumn Trees

Inspired by the major city in British Columbia, Vancouver Velocity cools things down with a winter-themed track. Bright lights shining at night are always pleasing to the eye, and Vancouver Velocity is no different. The course also includes some notable locations from the city, such as a stretch racing through a suspension bridge, referencing the bridge park.

Being a Mario Kart Tour track, Vancouver Velocity changes each lap, creating natural difficulty as you'll be challenged with each go around. The cinematic finish of racing through an ice-dancing arena is a perfect ending.

4 Los Angeles Laps

A View Of The Beach With Item Cubes

Similar to courses like Mario Kart 7's Maka Wuhu, Los Angeles Laps takes you through one complete lap with different sections separating the race. This approach allows several city aspects to be seen while driving. Beginning in an amusement park, you'll travel along the beachside boardwalk before heading into the city, flying over a baseball stadium.

The entire course is breathtaking, and the benefit of these course types is that they don't become stale since each 'lap' is unique. Los Angeles Laps has several shortcuts, so the more skilled among your friend groups can take advantage of everything this course has.

3 Daisy Cruiser

A Large Cruise Ship Sitting In The Water

Mario Kart Double Dash's Daisy Cruiser is back and has all the charm from the original. The bright sun shining down over the ship sets the perfect mood. Racing through the pool on the deck, tracing through the dining hall while avoiding tables, and the basement of the cruiser being flooded, acting as an alternate path, all come together to make an exciting course.

While Daisy Cruiser isn't a challenging track, it doesn't need to be. The enjoyment comes from the positive atmosphere and open nature of which ways you want to go. The course is short and simple enough for anybody to enjoy, regardless of skill.

2 Athens Dash

A Marble Statue With A Gold Spear And Shield Near Some Colloms

The opening course of the Feather Cup, Athens Dash, is a challenging trip through the city. Several obstacles will test your ability to navigate at high speeds. The columns of the architecture, falling boulders from a nearby mountain, and bats flying through caves are just some of what you'll need to overcome.

Athens Dash isn't only difficult because the details in the course are a marvel to look at. The attention to detail is impressive, making it one of the best Mario Kart Tour tracks.

1 Squeaky Clean Sprint

Kamek Performing A Trick Over A Bathtub

The single new course introduced in the Wave 5 DLC for this Switch game, Squeaky Clean Sprint, is an imaginative course that is a joy to race across. You'll be traveling through a bathroom as a tiny version of yourself, and it's as fun as it sounds.

Driving through a bathtub's drain, being shot into the air by a toilet, and being pushed around by house fans are all inventive obstacles. While Squeaky Clean Sprint is on the simple side, the natural charm of this course more than makes it a memorable race.
