Hiring an employee can be one of the stressful aspects of Dave The Diver since every employee has four stats and two unlockable skills. You'll have to invest a lot of money into an employee's training if you want them to have these skills, and it's not easy to get your hands on the money.

Most employee stats are quite self-explanatory, but Appeal is an outlier since the game doesn't tell you anything about this stat. Unfortunately, it is also one of the most important stats when it comes to the popularity and overall success of your restaurant.

What Does Appeal Stat Mean?

Appeal stat essentially determines how happy a customer is going to be when they visit your restaurant. You can view this stat when you're hiring an employee, which unlocks after you feed Yoshie during the early game. If a character has a high Appeal, they're more likely to make customers happy and leave them a tip.

Moreover, whenever a customer leaves your restaurant, you'll sometimes see a social media post pop up on the left side. Your overall following and popularity increase when someone posts about Bancho Sushi, and there's a higher chance of this happening if the customer is served by an employee with high Appeal.

The game doesn't mention any of this, so the exact ratio between a customer being happy and a high Appeal stat isn't known.

Naturally, you'd want to place an employee with a high Appeal stat in the Dining Area so that they can interact with the customers. It's even better if these employees can have skills that let them pour Green Tea, Beer, or other beverages to the customers. You can unlock employee skills when you train them two and six times respectively.

Training an employee also increases their Serving and Appeal even further, which increases their serving speed and allows them to interact with more customers. Whenever a customer leaves a tip, you'll see a bowl icon on the table. Cleaning the bowl will give you $20.
