World Events in The Elder Scrolls Online have been a staple ever since the launch of the game. To oppose the Daedric Prince Molag Bal seeking to merge his realm of Coldharbour with the world of Nirn, you would have to seek out Dolmens around Tamriel, and stop the Dark Anchors from latching onto the world at those locations.

Each new chapter in ESO brings new World Events that keep the game fresh, from the Dragonscours in Elsweyr, to Harrowstorms in Greymoor, to Bastion Nymic in The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom. Unique mechanics, rewards, and combat experiences all define the World Events, and Bastion Nymic has its own unique flair.

Necrom's Bastion Nymic World Event Explained

Ordinator Tandasea tasks you with protecting Bastion Nymic from Hermaeus Mora's enemies.

Bastion Nymic is the new World Event that comes in the Necrom chapter for ESO, and it occurs in the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha zones. The story of Necrom revolves around the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora and the realm of Apocrypha. Opposing Daedric Princes are trying to invade Mora’s realm, and Bastion Nymic is their starting point.

A “Nymic” is the true name of a Daedra, and knowing its name gives you the power to control it. Bastion Nymic keeps those names of power secret and protected, therefore it becomes a key target for Hermaeus Mora’s enemies.

You are tasked with entering Bastion Nymic and thwarting the plans of the other Daedric Princes. The other Princes have even turned Hermaeus Mora’s own forces against him in Bastion Nymic, which is why you are the key to saving the day here.

This is an instanced World Event designed for groups of up to four players, and involves multiple steps to fully complete. Like all World Events, these are designed to be repeated numerous times to gain rewards and achievements.

How To Start Bastion Nymic World Events

You fight against a monstrous and tentacled Herald's Seeker.

In order to gain access to the Bastion Nymic World Events, you will first need to find Ordinator Tandasea in the city of Necrom. She will fill you in on the details and give you the daily quest to complete Bastion Nymic.

You will need to obtain five Daedric Ichor in order to open the portals into Bastion Nymic, and you can get these by defeating Herald’s Seekers around the map. After getting the daily quest, Ordinator Tandasea will mark the areas on your map where you can find these enemies.

Herald’s Seekers can be difficult to defeat alone, especially the five times needed to get all Daedric Ichors. In terms of strength, they are similar to World Bosses. Luckily, if you are in a group, any Daedric Ichor drops picked up in the group will count toward the total of five you need.

Next, you will need to find a portal Edifice. Use the Ichor to activate the portal into Bastion Nymic. Any Edifice can be activated, and there are four Edifices in total:

  • In Telvanni Peninsula, there is the Fungal Downs Edifice and Glasscrag Edifice.
  • In Apocrypha, there is the Withering Wastes Edifice and Fallen Hues Edifice.

How To Complete Bastion Nymic

When you first arrive in Bastion Nymic, you will be in its center. There are three different areas, but you will always start in one at random. Your main priority is to defeat the main boss in whichever area you start in. Along the way will be plenty of extra enemies, optional puzzles, and secret encounters.

Once you defeat the main boss of each area, a portal will open to return you to the center area. Here you can face the final boss to complete Bastion Nymic. The final boss will be different each time you do a Bastion Nymic, depending on your starting area.

Before fighting the final boss, you can choose to enter the other areas of Bastion Nymic. You can fight the area bosses there, and complete the puzzles and other encounters.

Once you defeat the final boss, all other enemies in Bastion Nymic will despawn. If you want to fight through other quarters, you'll have to do so before fighting the final boss.

How To Play Bastion Nymic Solo

You and a companion stand outside the glowing portal to Bastion Nymic.

Necrom’s new World Event was designed for group play, but there are times when you might want to play solo. There are a couple of ways it can be attempted.

The easier way is to actually find a temporary group as a solo player. Keep a lookout on the chat window, as there may be other players who need help with Herald’s Seekers and the World Event. You can also ask in the zone chat to group up for Bastion Nymic. You can agree to team up for the daily quest, and then part ways afterward.

However, if you want to do Bastion Nymic completely solo, you should do your best to be prepared. You will need to be at the level cap of 50, and the more Champion Points you have, the better. Stock up on stat boosting meals and healing items, and prepare to use them pretty regularly.

It will likely be impossible for new players to solo Bastion Nymic. Focus on leveling up and other aspects of the story, or find a group to help you.

There are several available Companions you can unlock in ESO, and having a Companion summoned will act as a pseudo-group member. Necrom introduces two new Companions, the Warden Sharp-as-Night and the Arcanist Azandar Al-Cybiades.

Even with a Companion, soloing Bastion Nymic will be incredibly tough. It may take several attempts, but it isn't entirely impossible. Mastering your skill rotations and having a Companion to help keep you alive will be the key.
