Dave the Diver is chock full of aquatic species to discover, capture, and kill. However, some fish are a bit more elusive and difficult to detain than others. The Pelican Eel is one such prize seeing as it is both an eel and a rank 9 sea creature.
On top of that, the Pelican Eel can only be found in a specific zone that you'll need to acquire the proper equipment to enter. All of that being said, everything you need to know about catching this slippery snake is just below.
Why Catch The Pelican Eel
Like other large carnivorous sea creatures in Dave the Diver, the Pelican Eel is a bit of a hassle to deal with in the first place.
As a result, you may be wondering why you should even bother.
For one, you'll need to kill the Pelican Eel to harvest the Pelican Eel Skin item, which is used to upgrade the Net Gun to a Steel Net Gun.
Secondly, the Pelican Eel is a prime target for capture as the sushi you can make with this eel is quite profitable to sell.
Where To Find It
The Pelican Eel can only be found in the Glacial Passage. This is a rather small area that's only comprised of the passage that you travel through to enter the Glacial Area.
You won't be able to enter the Glacial Passage area until you progress to Chapter 4 in the story.
Furthermore, you'll also need to equip the Wet Suit for Dave to swim in this area, as he will refuse to enter it otherwise.
You may not immediately see a Pelican Eel on your first pass through the Glacial Passage, however, if you spend a couple of minutes swimming back and forth through it, one will eventually spawn. Just have some patience.
Tips For Catching
Like the Moray Eel, the Pelican Eel is a dangerous enemy to go toe to toe with. Therefore, the best strategy to deal with this creature is to use hit-and-run tactics to whittle down its health.
Items like the poison harpoon tip or the tranquilizer gun can be extremely helpful in this situation, as a single successful shot from either can deal with the eel all on its own.
Alternatively, the Triple Axel is a very effective weapon for dealing with any Eel, as the creature's large body makes it easy to land all three shots if you can manage to get alongside it.
Remember, though, that you'll get the largest quantity and best quality of sushi by simpling capturing this creature, so once you've already killed one and harvested all the Pelican Eel Skin you need, it's better to stick to tranquilizers and nets.
