A Crying Shame is Aphrodite’s quest in Immortals Fenyx Rising, where you must complete three different vaults and find Aphrodite’s tears. A single vault alone does not take much time, but all three of them together can be extremely time-consuming. Finding these tears can be particularly difficult due to the challenging nature of the game.
All the vaults are located in the Valley of Eternal Spring. Head over to the Hall of Gods after selecting the quest to get close to the quest area. The three vaults are within flying distance of each other, so it hardly matters which one you should do first.
Kalliope’s Distress Vault
To unlock this vault, you need to activate three switches in ruin to the northwest of Halls of the God. Reach the objective marker and enter the ruin by the door.
Unlocking The Vault
- To find the first switch, spot a crack in the wall next to a statue. Jump on the platform opposite the wall and shoot Apollo's Arrow toward the fire. Guide the arrow to fly through that crack and light the brazier within. It will spawn a gust of wind nearby. Stand on the gust of wind to elevate upwards. Interact with the panel to activate the switch.
- For the second switch, locate a hole in the ground of the ruin and jump down to find and activate the switch.
- Next, get on the top platform and look down to find a box on the pressure plate. Move the box using Herakles's Strength. It will open the door where you will find the final switch. Activate the switch to open the door.
Enter the vault through the door that you unlocked after activating all the switches.
Walkthrough Of the Vault
There are several puzzles containing pressure plates in this particular vault. You must step on them in the correct pattern (shown on the wall) while avoiding fire from the Cerberus statues.
Make sure to only step on the copper plates instead of stone ones.
Puzzle 1
Head straight to find the first puzzle. Step on the first two plates on the left column and the last two on the right-most column.
Puzzle 2
Hop on the wind gust to enter the next area to find a similar but larger puzzle.
This time, there will be 16 plates and two Cerberus statues. Start from the right, step on the first two plates, skip the third, and step on the fourth. Continue on that row till you activate the second and third plates, then take a sharp turn to the left to activate that plate, and then a sharp turn to the right to activate the last plate.
Puzzle 3
This is the longest and toughest puzzle, containing 25 plates and three Cerberus statues. Like the previous two, use the pattern on the wall as a guide to solve the puzzle.
Begin by stepping on three plates on the left while avoiding the fourth and stepping on the fifth. Take a right turn, and activate the second and fourth plate on that row. Turn right to activate the plate on the fourth column, avoid the next and step on the second plate, and turn left on the final column to activate the last plate.
Once complete, ride over the gust of winds onto the next platform to find the Tear of Aphrodite and Zeus’s Lightning.
Adonis’s Fall Vault
Head over to the quest marker on the southeast of Valley Of Eternal Spring.
Entering the Vault
You will find the entrance with a statue (surrounded by red stones) guarded by boars. Defeat the boars and smash the statue to find a hole in the ground. Jump to enter the vault.
Vault Walkthrough
Move straight ahead to find a lever and a stone wall opposite of it, with rock balls rolling horizontally on the path between. Pull the lever to activate a wind gust that crashes the ball to shatter the wall. Keep doing it until the path of the ball is no longer impeded by the wall, and it lands on the pressure plate to the right of the wall.
Fly over to the other side. Use the momentum of the wind gusts to accelerate your flight to the next platform. You will find a similar puzzle here, but this time it’ll be two walls instead of one. Press the lever to destroy the walls again, and move on to the next area using the wind gusts.
In the final puzzle, you will need to do the same thing all over. However, you must first break the wall in front and drop the boxes on top of three moving pillars. Then, shoot the ball to land on the next platform, where it will roll down to a socket.
Jump on the moving pillars leading towards the platform and then step on the gust of wind to fly in the air. There will be more air streams ahead which will help you guide towards the chest containing the Tear of Aphrodite and Zeus’ Lightning.
Aphrodite’s Bewilderment
The final vault is on the south side of the Valley of Eternal Spring area, near an abandoned village.
Unlocking the Vault
Upon reaching the marker, you will find the entrance blocked by a red barrier. To unlock it, you need to find cabbages hidden on the roofs of abandoned houses and place them on the plates at the entrance. Once complete, you will see the red vault disappear and will be able to enter the vault.
Vault Walkthrough
As you enter the vault, you will come across a panel. Activate it to spawn two boxes and use those boxes to jump over the next platform. You’ll need to repeat the same thing on the next platform.
On the next platform, you’ll have to grab one of the previous boxes and place it next to the wall so you can jump across.
Moving on to the next platform, use the panel to spawn two boxes and stack them on top of each other to jump over to the next area.
This platform will have Cerberus Fireballs that will hinder your progress. You’ll need to carry a box across the platform and place it next to the wall to jump across. Grab the box and repeat the process. On the next platform, you will have a pressure plate on which you need to place the box. Pick up the box and put it on the plate to activate the wind gusts. Use the momentum to travel across the next platform and find the Tear of Aphrodite there.
After collecting the tear, jump to the area on the left side with an interactive panel. As before, interact with it and spawn two boxes. Stack them to jump across, and carry them onto the next area to jump to the further platform.
You will find a pressure plate in this area. Carry the box from the previous platform to place it on that plate to spawn a throwable box. Aim it towards the next area across the platform you are standing on and throw it there.
Make a double jump to the next platform. Pick up the second metal box and throw it on the next platform. Place the boxes on the pressure plate to activate the gust of winds. Glide across to find a chest with Zeus' Lightning.
Once your objectives are updated, move to the new marker, which will trigger a cutscene and end this quest.
