With all the hype around the Zelda series and Tears Of The Kingdom in particular, it only makes sense that you might be on the lookout for some other similar games. Since the genre of action-adventure games is so vast, there are tons of games for you to choose from, especially on PS5.

If you need a fantastic new game to play on PS5, there are some excellent new games and remastered classics to choose from. These games all give Zelda vibes in some way, whether with grand adventure, fantasy, or sprawling open worlds.

10 Genshin Impact

5-Genshin Impact How To Defeat The Electro Hypostasis

You likely already know exactly what Genshin Impact is like. This fascinating free-to-play game took the world by storm, and the number one game it was being compared to was Breath Of The Wild, thanks to its expansive world and traversal style.

In truth, you actually get an experience that adds in a lot more RPG elements than the Zelda series tends to, adding a new layer of complexity to the gameplay. Considering it’s free, it’s hard not to recommend an anime-style game everyone has spent tons of hours in.

9 Kena: Bridge Of Spirits

If you are looking for a game similar to Zelda games but with a bit more heart and a more Disney-like appearance, you’ll probably love Kena: Bridge Of Spirits. You play as the titular Kena as she tries to help spirits move on to the afterlife.

The core gameplay is fairly similar to most of the Zelda series, with exploration and item-based puzzle-solving as you go. Kena does prefer a staff over a sword for combat, but the adjustment shouldn’t be too tough for you.

8 Tunic

Tunic is quite clearly a heavily Zelda-inspired game. The game seems to be heavily modeled over the early generation of Zelda games, with exactly what’s going on being yours to discover as you play.

Rather than a strangely quiet person, you’ll be playing as a little fox the entire time. The game implements more complex mechanics than the original Zelda, but it still manages to capture the same kind of magic, which is likely why so many people are drawn to this wicked indie gem.

7 Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Skyrim might be on pretty much every system in existence at this point, but there's a reason for that. It’s a solid game that pretty much anyone can jump into and have fun. Additionally, you can always go back to it after a few years and have a new experience with a different playstyle.

Explore this massive world and complete hundreds of unique quests at your leisure. Like the modern Zelda games, if you don’t want to tackle the main story, that can basically be the very last thing you choose to do.

6 No More Heroes 3

Travis uses the Death Glove to transform in No More Heroes 3

If you’re looking for something in the style of Zelda but set in the modern time, the closest you’re probably going to get is No More Heroes 3. The story won’t be reminiscent of Zelda in the slightest, but the gameplay and open-world adventuring won’t feel too dissimilar.

You play as the infamous Travis Touchdown, an assassin who gets in way over his head in this adventure. It’s best to go into this game blind if you don’t know much about it, with the only thing you really need to know is that it’s a bizarre game but one you’ll probably still love trying out.

5 Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

If you somehow still haven’t played Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it’s well worth giving a playthrough on the PS5. It has massive planets to explore, but it also throws in additional parkour-like traversal in order to get around.

This instant-classic Cal Kestis adventure changes the standard hack-and-slash gameplay seen in the series before to something much more strategic. If you’ve stopped to plan an attack against a group of enemies in Zelda, you’ll need to do the exact same in this fun game.

4 Hyper Light Drifter

The Warrior Confronts The Dark Entities

If you’re a fan of the throwback style of gaming that’s been getting a revival lately, you’ll enjoy Hyper Light Drifter, a game that was clearly modeled after Zelda. You start the game with a simple sword, but you can increase your options as you progress.

The world is a thrill to explore, but large chunks of it will feel reminiscent of the older 2D Zelda games. The story might take some time to uncover, but once you do, you’ll have a fulfilling experience from start to finish.

3 Tales Of Arise

You might already know the Tales series, which means you’ll know that Tales Of Arise is actually a massive RPG, but it does still feel familiar to Zelda games. Going on a sprawling adventure and exploring the world still feels familiar, even if you’re doing it with a group.

It has a familiar medieval setting, though with a lot more life to it. While Tales Of Symphonia is often regarded as the darling of the series, this game has become a new favorite amongst many people, meaning it’s just waiting for you to try it.

2 Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising Orb Puzzles

This game is a massive departure from the kind of storytelling you’re used to from Zelda games, but the gameplay will mostly feel familiar. Rather than typical fantasy, Immortals: Fenyx Rising centers around Greek mythology for its world.

You might think that would leave you deeply out of your element, but with the combat, traversal, quests, and puzzle-solving all feeling similar to Zelda, you’ll likely feel right at home with this title. As an added bonus, you can create your own character instead of using the same old Link.

1 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

In this fantastic RPG, you’ve got a massive world to explore and a whole bunch of quests to take on as well. Though The Witcher 3 does boast much heavier and more in-depth RPG mechanics than any Zelda game to date.

Despite the differences in mechanics, you’re going to find a fantastic journey to go on with familiar combat and a lot of impressive characters. If you prefer a talkative protagonist, you’ll probably enjoy Geralt’s dry humor.
