Acquiring the Royal Purple Potion is one of the last parts of a tedious and well-hidden quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. There are hidden potatoes all around the valley for you to find, and each turns into a special potion. You can't interact with said potion but must instead use it for some other hidden agenda.
Believe it or not, the Royal Purple Potion requires less work to make than other potions. This guide will detail everything you need to do to find the purple potato and turn it into a potion. Follow step by step, and you will get everything you need for the Rainbow Potion.
Most of these special potatoes will not spawn into the world until after you have completed the Mysterious Golden Potato quest.
Initiate Olaf's Quest
You will need to have Olaf in your valley to actually complete this quest. You will have to enter his Secret Chamber, where you initially found him. Olaf's Secret Chamber is in Frosted Heights, on the North wall on the right side of the river.
Enter this chamber to find Olaf and begin his quest. After completing his initial quest that welcomes him to the valley, you should be able to continue with the Royal Purple Potion quest. You need access to the portal in the Secret Chamber to complete the Purple Potato.
Find All Of The Secret Books
To find the Purple Potato, you need to go on a scavenger hunt. There are purple books all around the valley. When you read one of these books, it will be an excerpt from a book, and only one word will be bolded in yellow. Remember this bolded word. Each word from each book will need to be used as sequences of passwords.
These words need to be used in the correct order. To know what order they need to be in, pay attention to what Experiment number they are. The first words you need to use should be from the lowest number to the highest.
These passwords will get you your Purple Potato from the Secret Chamber. You don't actually have to find every single book to continue to the next step. All you need is the list of words in the correct order.
You can skip this part entirely. Just head to the Secret Chamber, and recite the chosen words located at the end of this article.

Vitaly's Mine | Past the Shimmering Pool. The Shimmering Pool can be found by reaching the part of the mines where the railroad track is open, and both sides are broken except forward. Take your immediate left to find the Shimmering Pool. Pass the mine carts and then turn right. It will be on the floor at your feet. |

Enter The Secret Chamber
Once you have each word from each book memorized or written down, head to the Secret Chamber. The purple portal in the chamber can be spoken to. The Dark Portal will ask you a series of questions to which you need answers. These answers are the words from the books and must be in the correct order. They go as follows:
- Potato
- Book
- Dreams
- Higitus Figitus
- Fugu
- Crystal
- Foraging
- The Forgetting
- Raspberry
- Magic
After reciting each word, the Dark Portal will drop the Purple Potato. Craft an Empty Vial at a crafting station. Combine the Empty Vial and the Purple Potato to create the Royal Purple Potion.
The Royal Purple Potion cannot be consumed. It must be combined with other special potions to create the Rainbow Potion.
