This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is launching on August 25 later this year, according to a new report. Sources close to the project are shooting down fears that it could be pushed back into 2024, saying that it will be with us later this summer, following a potential June showcase.

This comes just after Armored Core 6 was given an age rating in South Korea, further suggesting that it will be with us sooner rather than later. If true, this would be a pretty short space of time between reveal and release, as Armored Core 6 was first shown off at The Game Awards last December.

The release date, which comes to us via sources speaking with Insider Gaming, has not been confirmed. However, it is in line with what we've heard of the game's development so far, since FromSoftware was always aiming for a 2023 release.

It would also make sense considering that Armored Core 6 has been in development for quite some time, even if FromSoft was keeping it firmly under wraps for years. We first heard something about an Armored Core sequel all the way back in 2016, when it was said to be in the early stages of development. This means it was in the works even while FromSoft devs had the mammoth task of getting Elden Ring ready, so it's no wonder that it's taken so long.

According to this latest report, we might get another peek at Armored Core 6 on June 8, as part of Summer Games Fest. Given that E3 2023 is just straight-up not happening, we can likely expect some pretty big reveals as part of this showcase instead, so a showing from Armored Core 6 would make a lot of sense.

There's not much more info to go on, but there is one interesting thing to note: Armored Core is still getting a multi-generation release. Unlike some 2023 releases, which are leaving last-gen behind, Armored Core 6 is set to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. With this in mind, it could be the last FromSoft game that makes it onto PS4 and Xbox One, although it remains to be seen if the performance takes a hit because of this.

Armored Core 6 is the first game in the series since Armored Core 5 all the way back in 2012. Considering that fans have already waited over a decade for a new game, they will definitely be pleased by this report that the wait won't bleed into 2024.
