6 Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is a cult classic film and comic book series with a lot of superhero, gaming, and pop culture elements. Naturally, it was made into a game that resembles an old beat 'em up arcade title. For the PS5, you can get your hands on the Complete Edition of the game, which includes a remastered version and all of its original downloadable content.

Masternoid is an arcade-style virtual reality game. You'll need PlayStation VR2 for your PS5. In Masternoid, you're set in an arcade world with just an energy blaster as your only weapon and means of survival.

The game has 50 levels, where voxels will fly at you relentlessly. Your job is to shoot them down before you take too much damage and lose. You can do so standing or sitting, with a variety of accessibility options available.

4 Cannon Dancer - Osman

Cannon Dancer - Osman brings back classic side-scrolling arcade adventures that the likes of Final Fight and Golden Axe made famous. Set in the near future, a corrupt government controls the world, and an evil sorceress threatens it.

You play Kirin, an assassin agent hired for his skills as a fighter. Fight your way to the right of the screen against several enemy types and bosses that will test your ability to combo your attacks with your movement.

3 Pixel Ripped 1978

Pixel Ripped 1978 requires a PS5 and PSVR2. When you put on your virtual reality headset, you'll feel transported to an arcade world. In fact, you will be within the game as the evil Cyblin Lord hacks into several games that your character, Dot, created in the past.

There are retro Atari games within Pixel Ripped 1978. You need to play through these to stop the antagonist and save the gaming world. It is a game-within-a-game with a mass of worlds for you to explore.

If the nostalgia of late 80s and early 90s arcades is what you are looking for, there's a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle title that is perfect for you. While a modern release, it is everything you'd expect from a TMNT arcade cabinet released during that era. Shredder's Revenge is a wonderful homage to games like Turtles in Time.

You can play as any of the Turtles and have friends join in to fill the roles of whoever you don't choose. You'll face iconic villains like Bebop and Rocksteady, the Foot Clan, and the evil Shredder himself. Take the wisdom of Master Splinter to the streets and stop them before it's too late.

Arcade Paraside is a management simulator that brings many arcade-style elements to the PS5. You play as Ashley and are employed at your family's laundromat. Instead of keeping things business as usual, you decide to turn the laundromat into an arcade.

As you build your dream arcade, you'll have up to 35 different games to place. Then you can actually play those games, each with unique gameplay, stories, missions, and high scores you can challenge friends or AI to beat.
