Resident Evil fans will know that the series is no stranger to the absurd. Those who've played the original Resident Evil 4 - which features a giant robot chase scene, over a dozen corny punchlines, and a rollercoaster-esque minecart ride - will know exactly what I'm talking about. The animated movies have also seen their fair share of goofy moments, and the upcoming Resident Evil: Death Island is looking like it will have a few to add to the pile.

Despite that though, Resident Evil fans just can't get enough of the series' stupid side, and are absolutely loving some of the sillier moments that feature in the movie's latest trailer. One scene in particular seems to be generating the most laughs, that being the moment in which Chris, Claire, Jill, Leon, and Rebecca all dramatically fling themselves out of the way of an oncoming tentacle with their own unique methods.

You can watch the scene for yourself in the trailer embedded down below, which starts at around the 2 minute mark. Both Chris and Jill go for a casual leap to the side while firing their guns at the tentacle owner, but Leon, Claire, and Rebecca go for style over substance. Leon quickly runs up to the nearby railing and jumps off of it, shooting on the way down. Rebecca decides to duck and slide across the floor on her back, shooting the tentacle as it passes over her, while Claire wins the award for most dramatic dodge for her cartwheel-esque flip.

All of this happens simultaneously to create a scene which you can't help but giggle at a little bit. It's tickled the Resident Evil fanbase at the very least, who have been talking about the trailer on the series' subreddit and how much they're enjoying what they've seen from Death Island's over the top action scenes so far.

One user called u/kraMitten says that Death Island is going to be "so incredibly stupid", but states that this is a good thing, while u/ten_dead_dogs admits that the movie is going to be "the dumbest piece of shit ever that I'll obsessively watch beginning-to-end a hundred times". It seems to be exactly what fans want though, and most are just excited seeing all of the Resident Evil fan favorite characters starring in the same film at the same time.

It's not just the action scenes that are pretty stupid either, as the Resident Evil lore revealed in Death Island has had fans both amazed and flabbergasted as well. For example, to answer the inevitable question as to why Jill doesn't look any older since Resident Evil 3, the movie explains that virus infections apparently slow the aging process, something which makes absolutely no sense whatsoever but is typical Resident Evil.
